Since May, we’ve been trying to do things differently, both in our work — selling AirCare and (soon) other Berkshire Hathaway Travel Protection products — and our play, which is what you see here three times a week.
We take our play seriously, and because we do, we don’t embrace a lot of statuses quo. What follows is a textbook case of non-status-quo-embracing.
Supposedly storytelling is the new hot thing in the other new hot thing, content marketing. We’d argue that content marketing has been around at least since advertiser-supported journalism, and journalism has always been about storytelling.
What is relatively new is using the comic-book/graphic-novel format to tell travel stories. Since we’re not afraid of jumping into this particular breach, today we’re launching a series of graphic nonfiction called “Graphic Journeys.” We think it’s a fantastic form of travel storytelling, so we’ve commissioned some excellent comic-book artists and writers to create Graphic Journeys #1.
We hope you’ll like and share their work, and share with us trips you think would make a great Graphic Journey. If we like your suggestions, and our creators like them, you may just see them in (digital) print.
In the meantime, enjoy Graphic Journeys #1.
A little housekeeping: This story will appear in two forms — panel-by-panel followed by page-by-page. It’s quality, either way you choose to read.
