BHTP Connexions: Travel-Writing Special!

connections_ideas

Travel writing, as this department may have mentioned, is one of the sweetest jobs on the planet – not so much for us home-bound travel writers, but for those writers who actually get to go places.

Because of that, and because anyone who goes anywhere these days writes/tweets/blogs/Instagrams/livestreams about it, it’s also one of the most competitive jobs on the planet.

That’s why it’s always great to talk to someone who excels at something we all wish we could excel at. Over the last 30 years, Maryellen Kennedy Duckett has quietly established herself as a top travel writer, with several books and a long list of articles to her credit. In her current post as a contributing editor at National Geographic Traveler, Maryellen has collaborated on a spectacular new book, Wild, Beautiful Places: Picture-Perfect Journeys Around The Globe. (A great gift idea, BTW.)

The November edition of our “Connexions” podcast features a fascinating interview with this talented writer. You can access the podcast below. Enjoy!

As content engineer for Berkshire Hathaway Travel Protection, I have one of the world's great jobs. Not only do I get to write about travel, but I get to edit the work of fantastically talented contributors from around the world. Plus I get all the maple syrup I can drink.
