Fresh on the heels of Berkshire Hathaway’s smashing success with innovative new products like TimeCare, for time travelers; DroneCare, for drone travel; and VirtualCare, for virtual-reality travel – all introduced on April 1 of their respective years, coincidentally – BHTP is proud to announce the latest addition to its product line: VirtualCare Plus.
VirtualCare Plus adds a market-leading artificial-intelligence engine to VirtualCare to not only protect travelers from the normal mishaps associated with virtual-reality travel – stumbling over ottomans, running into walls, social awkwardness – but to also protect them from mishaps that happen within their virtual trips.
“We know that as virtual reality becomes more sophisticated and – well, real – that there will increasingly be dangers built right into these platforms,” said a virtual spokesman for Berkshire Hathaway Travel Protection. “Falling off a zipline into the Costa Rican jungle in full 3-D, surround-sound, 100 percent realistically simulated terror, for instance. When these events occur, and you suffer a virtual concussion or fractured pelvis, VirtualCare Plus will be there with the best in virtual emergency travel assistance.”
In addition, VirtualCare Plus protects virtual travelers against many of the other mishaps of virtual travel. If you lose your virtual passport, for instance, VirtualCare Plus offers a special feature called “The On/Off Button.” Press it and a new passport will appear.
And should your virtual trip involve simulated pickpockets or damage to your make-believe luggage, VirtualCare Plus will be there.
In addition, if your virtual trip results in some of the injuries detailed above, you’ll be pleased to know that VirtualCare Plus includes simulated emergency medical evacuation to a totally fabricated hospital of your choice, where you will receive the best in make-believe medical care.
Thanks to BHTP’s unsurpassed speed of claims payment, compensation can be delivered automatically (in the form of a Mountain Dew from your own refrigerator and a snack-size bag of chips from underneath the sofa) if your virtual trip is delayed or cancelled for a number of covered reasons.
Collision coverage for all your artificial rental vehicles is also included, though it won’t cover you if you boot up Grand Theft Auto by mistake.
“VirtualCare Plus is the perfect product for the way that people don’t travel today,” the spokesman said. “As people continue to find new reasons to sit on the couch, we want to be right there on the couch with them – virtually, of course – in case something goes wrong.”
You’d better act fast, though: VirtualCare Plus will be one day only – April 1, a/k/a April Fool’s Day.
